The BB Coke High School male student, who was severely beaten by another on Thursday is to be transferred from the Mandeville Regional Hospital to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) in Kingston.

Relatives said this is to facilitate scans on the child’s head, in light of fears that he may have internal injuries.

The family members explained that the transfer to the UHWI is necessary, as the machine at the Mandeville Regional Hospital is reportedly not functioning.

They also noted that Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton has made contact with them in relation to arrangements for neurological treatment at the UHWI.
