Coaster operators who ply the Half Way Tree routes in St. Andrew are to meet with the Transport Authority and several other entities at midday to discuss a proposal that includes the re-purposing of the Transport Centre to accommodate them.

Transport Authority Chairman Owen Ellington said the aim is to reduce traffic buildup when the operators stop in live lanes, to load and unload passengers.

He also noted that the move will reduce the risk of people getting hurt.

Mr. Ellington added that the proposal also includes the erection of directional signs.

He was speaking at a post-cabinet press briefing this morning.
