Title holders Mount Pleasant opens new Wray  and  Nephew  Jamaica  Premier  League season with victory

A  25th    minute  strike  from Gawain  Austin  was  enough  to  give  the  Theodore  Whitmore  conditioned  team  a  1-nil  triumph  over   former  Champions  Portmore  United  at  Drax  Hall.

In  the  opening  game  of  the  Drax  Hall  double-header  newly  promoted  lime  hall  earned their first ever top flight point after playing to a nil-all draw with former champions Montego Bay united.

meanwhile Tivoli gardens  are  already  at  the top of the standings on goal difference after goals by Howard Morris, Justin Dunn and Shaquille Jones lifted them to a comfortable 3-nil win over Waterhouse at the national stadium.
