Temporary ban on burning of rubbish and cane fields
The government has placed a temporary ban on the burning of rubbish and cane fields.
Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Desmond Mckenzie gave the update, citing the ongoing drought which is impacting the island.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Watermount Water System, in St. Catherine on Wednesday Mr Mckenzie said this is affecting the services of the fire brigade.
He said the brigade responded to more than 1500 bush fires over the weekend.
