A 31-year-old teacher was killed in a motor vehicle collision along the Font Hill Main Road, in St. Elizabeth, around 12 noon on Friday.

She has been identified as Danielle Blake, a teacher at the Savanna-La-Mar Primary and resident of Sandy Ground in St Elizabeth.

Preliminary reports from the police are that Blake was a passenger in a taxi travelling from Black River towards Savanna-La-Mar, when a white 2019 Mitsubishi motor truck failed to keep left and crashed into the taxi.

The eight occupants of both motor vehicles were taken to the Black River Hospital where Blake was pronounced dead and the others, were admitted for treatment.
