Taxi operators protest outside Irie Fm Kingston offices, call for more airplay of issues
Some taxi operators have taken their protest to Irie Fm’s Kingston offices.
The taxi operators parked their vehicles along the Derrymore roadway, to register their frustration about aspects of the new Road Traffic Act.
They are calling for more time to clear outstanding tickets.
This is the third consecutive day of protest.
The operators, who have written a song about their grievances, are hoping that the song will get airplay on Irie Fm and other radio stations.
And transport operators in St. Ann also embarked on a third day of protest action, voicing their disgruntlement with sections of the new road traffic act.
The operators blocked sections of the brown’s town to runaway bay main road for a second consecutive morning.
The roadway has since been cleared.
