Taxi operators in Westmoreland protest over poor road conditions
Scores of commuters, including students in Westmoreland, were left stranded this morning as taxi operators who ply the Grange Hill to Savanna-La-Mar route withdrew their service.
The operators who used debris to block the roadway are protesting poor road conditions.
They have called on the relevant authorities to undertake a rehabilitation of the road instead of carrying out patching, which they say is not effective.
One member of the Westmoreland Taxi Association says the poor road costs operators immensely.
