Ahead of his highly anticipated crowning tonight (July 18) at Reggae Sumfest, Vybz Kartel says he’s feeling a mix of anxiety and anticipation.

The Dancehall star made the revelation during a recent interview with IRIE FM’s sister station, ZIP 103 FM.

Kartel’s crowning comes 16 years after Beenie Man was officially named King of the Dancehall in 2009.

In the same interview, Vybz Kartel also praised Reggae Sumfest, along with Josef Bogdanovich and his team, for their role in preserving Jamaican culture.

Festival Night 1 kicks off this evening at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay and marks Kartel’s first appearance at Sumfest since 2011.
