Dancehall deejays Mavado, Spice, I-Octane, and D’Angel are standing with the people of Guyana in their call for justice for 11-year-old Adriana Younge.
The case has garnered international attention after Adriana’s body was found in the now-destroyed Double Day Hotel pool in Guyana.
Spice, in a social media plea, has joined the cry for justice for Adriana Younge.
I-Octane, via his verified Instagram account, sent a heartfelt message to the Younge family and the Guyanese community. He wrote in part, “Some pains are too deep for melodies to reach. Though we cannot bring her back, we stand united that her memory will be honoured through justice.”
Echoing a similar sentiment, D’Angel wrote, “No parent deserves to lose their child like this. This is a very sad time for all of us no matter the distance.”
While Mavado shared, “Guyana GOD nah sleep”.
Protests continue in Guyana, and most recently, members of the Caribbean community gathered in New York to show solidarity with the people of Guyana.
The Younge family is now pushing for a second autopsy and calling for international investigators, citing mistrust in local authorities.
