Several entertainers are expressing condolences and grief following the shocking death of the 9-year-old son of Dancehall deejay Aidonia and his wife, Kimberly Megan.
King Khalif Lawrence, the only child for the couple, died on the weekend after ailing for some time.
On Instagram, Shaggy wrote, “My condolences to @aidonia4thgenna and his wife @kimberly__megan ’. … who lost their only child Khalif (earlier today) …my heart aches for their loss… It’s unimaginable the loss of a child. Sending prayers!”
Spragga Benz, who lost a son to gun violence, wrote, “I know the feeling and there are no words to bring comfort.. just the thought that we all belong to Jah and Jah know best. #morestrength bredda to you and the family. In the arms of Jah ”
Bounty killer wrote, “Only Jah know mi likkle bredda life is so unfair bcuz this is extremely heart wrenching youth can’t question god but can this be real yo my deepest sympathy and condolences to you and the entire family on both sides.”
On Twitter, Shenseea tweeted, “My heart is breaking for you Aidonia and Kim omg (four broken heart emojis) mercy.”
Beenie Man, PopCaan, Cham, Spice, Wayne Wonder, I-Octane, Pamputae, and Shane-O are among the other entertainers, industry players, and social media users expressing condolence and showing support.
Opposition leader Mark Golding in his social media message to the family wrote, “My deepest condolences to Sheldon (Aidonia) and Kimberly Lawrence on the loss of their son King Khalif.” The Opposition leader continued, “There are no words for a tragic loss such as this and I pray for their family during this time. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.”
Aidonia, who was expected to perform at a show in St. Mary last Saturday (Dec 3), cancelled his appearance following the devastating news.
