Jah Cure will have to remain behind Netherlands prison walls after a judge ruled this week that the Jamaican Reggae singer should continue serving his six-year sentence for attempted manslaughter.
The ruling was made on Tuesday when he appeared in court for a pro forma hearing. In a pro forma hearing, a judge decides whether or not a person should remain in detention. Under the Netherlands law, it occurs every 90 days.
Jah Cure is scheduled to return on April 18.
In March last year, Jah Cure was sentenced to six years for stabbing a show promoter over unpaid monies. The singer was acquitted of the more serious charge of attempted murder.
He has been incarcerated since October 2021.
