“She’s back!”, is the reaction from some social media users after Shenseea dropped her first Dancehall song following her decision to park the genre to pursue R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop.
The catchy new Dancehall track titled Hit & Run, features Masicka, and was released under Rich Immigrants imprint in partnership with Interscope Records today (Jan 26). The music video, which is expected to hit a million views on Youtube within 24 hours, opens with Shenseea having a phone conversation with Masicka.
Yuh think yuh coulda get inna mi feelings? Yuh couldn’t get mi fi settle down, mi gi yuh a hit and run,” the Sheng Yeng boss boldly asked.
The Genahsyde deejay in his response, accused Shenseea of being heartless for her actions. “Long story short, yuh ___ good and done, Heaven mi see when yuh pull ____ down, call call yuh phone, mi want some, dial tone again yuh heart numb”, he deejays effortlessly.
In the comment section on Youtube, fans expressed excitement. “The collab I didn’t know I needed”, shared one user. “This song is addictive, catchy, and relatable,” another user added. While another wrote, “Thank God she found her way back…. no twangy twangy.”
Hit & Run produced by Stephen Di Genius, comes after producer Rvssian, who signed Shenseea to his Rich Immigrants imprint in partnership with Interscope Records, revealed that they haven’t spoken in two years, and aren’t seeing “eye to eye” about her career.
Up to news time, Hit and Run was ranked number two on the iTunes Top 100 Reggae Songs chart.
