With just two days to go before Jamaicans go to the polls to choose a government to serve for the next five years, reggae and dancehall superstar Buju Banton is encouraging Jamaicans to make wise decisions.
In a video, captioned in part, ‘Time Reach’ the Not an Easy Road hitmaker broke into an impromptu song, criticising high cost of living, rising crime and poor wages, before appealing to Jamaicans to make the right choices come Wednesday September 3.
The video has sparked a wave of comments from many people, including Buju’s daughter Jodian Myrie who represented the Jamaica Labour Party in a previous local government election. In her response she pointed out that her father does not have a vote. Buju then replied, making it clear that the man without a vote is the very one who ensured she received an education.
