In a heartwarming display of gratitude and community spirit, New York-based Jamaican actor and radio DJ Elroy Simpson, aka DJ Elly, is giving back to the community that shaped him into the man he is today.

On Wednesday August 6, DJ Elly will team up with local barber Glen Jones and other residents to host a Community One Love Funday at the Pimento Walk playfield.

Aimed at fostering peace and unity in the community, the event will feature a football competition, activities for children and back-to school support for families in need.

DJ Elly’s passion for giving back stems from his own experiences growing up in the community. In a Music News interview today, DJ Elly, said he was proud to be able to make a difference by giving back to the community that helped to raise him.

The Independence Day event is free to the public.
