Dancehall artist Mavado issued an apology to his UK fans after being forced to cancel his upcoming performance in Nottingham.

In a statement shared on Instagram by Captain Bwoy Entertainment, the promoter of the event, Mavado explained, “It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce to my UK fans that the show at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, slated for this Saturday, July 27, has been rescheduled to September 27th.”

The decision comes after Mavado fell ill with a severe flu following a performance in London. He shared, “I have been bed-ridden all week and had to seek medical attention. I am over the worst of it and recovering, but on the advice of doctors, I am unable to perform this Saturday.”

He expressed gratitude to his fans for their support during his four-week stay in the UK.

Mavado posted a black-and-white photo on his verified Instagram account, captioned, “My UK fans, sorry for the change of plan. I have no choice. Gully Gad will be back real soon,” along with the praying hands emoji and flags of the UK and Jamaica.

Some fans who attended the London concert reported feeling ill afterward, raising concerns about a potential illness spreading in the area.

One user wrote, “My friend and I were at the concert last weekend and now we are both ill. Something is definitely going around in the UK at the moment. All my colleagues are sick too.”

Another shared, “Omg. I’m ill too.”

Meanwhile, Mavado has since returned to the US, where he currently resides.
