A female student of the Steer Town Academy in St. Ann was allegedly beaten unconscious after she was accused of stepping on a schoolmate’s shoes yesterday.

Head of the parish’s police division Senior Superintendent (SSP) Dwight Powell said based on reports, the girl whose shoes had been stepped on, pledged to retaliate.

SSP Powell said a group of students later attacked one girl, beating her severely.

The girl has been hospitalised.

Investigators are urging the students involved in the altercation to report to the police.

This incident comes days after a similar one at the BB Coke High School in St Elizabeth last week, in which a boy stepped on another’s Clarks shoes, and was beaten unconscious.

The injured boy is recovering at hospital, while his attacker has been arrested and charged.
