A St. Mary family is counting losses, after fire gutted their home this morning.

Residents said the fire started at about 10 am.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

One of the occupants of the house, Angela Thompson, told IRIE FM News that 9 adults, including her 87-year-old mother and a number of children resided at the dwelling.

She said she was not home at the time of the fire.

Ms. Thompson said they lost everything, but she is grateful that no one perished.
