A St. James man was chopped to death allegedly by a man said to be of unsound mind in Adelphi, last evening.

Dead is 30-year-old Mason Romaine Martin of Yorkland in Adelphi.

Reports are that at about 9:15 pm, Martin was among a group of people sitting along a road way, when he was approached by a man who chopped him several times.

Martin was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
