St. Elizabeth inches closer to full power restoration following Hurricane Beryl
St. Elizabeth, which was hard-hit by the passage of Hurricane Beryl, continues to inch closer to full power restoration.
Yesterday, Energy Minister Daryl Vaz indicated that 83 per cent of Jamaica Public Service (JPS) customers in the parish were still in darkness some 11 days after the Category 4 hurricane ravaged the island.
In an update this morning, Member of Parliament for St. Elizabeth South Western, Floyd Green said while persons are eagerly awaiting the return of electricity, he trusts that Mr. Vaz and the JPS will address the issue soon.
He noted, however, that there needs to be more manpower deployed in the parish to expedite the power restoration process.
