St. Catherine mother appeals for financial assistance as efforts continue to save her son who was badly injured in a fire

A St. Catherine mother is appealing for financial assistance as efforts continue to save her son, who was badly injured in a fire which also claimed the life of his younger sister.

Attempts are being made to get 25-year-old Coney Daley overseas for treatment.

The young man who reportedly suffered burns to approximately 85% of his body is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

Daley and his sister, 14-year-old Gabriella Wright, were at home when the fire gutted their home at St. John’s Gardens, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, about 4:40 PM on Wednesday.

She lost another son in a shooting three years ago and is now pleading for support to help save Coney’s life.

Co-founder of the Burn Foundation of Jamaica, Stephen Josephs, is asking Jamaicans to assist the family.

In the meantime, Councillor for the Homestead Division, Mark McLean, says he is committed to doing his best to assist the affected family.
