St. Ann Police say measures are being taken to prevent attacks on cash courier vehicles
The St. Ann Police have sought to assure that measures are being taken to prevent attacks on money courier vehicles in the parish.
This in the wake of recent armed robbery incidents, in St. Catherine, St. Elizabeth and St. Thomas.
Head of the St. Ann Police Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell said the parish has recorded a reduction in robberies so far this year compared to last year.
Last year had 41 incidents, whereas this year has so far seen 16.
He said the police have been discussing strategies with money courier companies, and other private security partners, in a bid to implement initiatives aimed at ensuring safety and security.
He was delivering the police report at the meeting of the St. Ann Municipal Corporation on Thursday.
