Muschett High’s sensation Shanoya Douglas, is excited to have gotten the opportunity to compete in the 100 meters at this weekend’s East Coast International Showcase in Landover, Maryland.

Douglas had secured the Class Two 200 and 400 meters double at the ISSA Girls Championship in March and during the process, clocked a personal best of 52.96 seconds in the 400 meters semi-finals.

The 16-year-old then clocked a personal best time of 23.16 seconds to clinch the gold medal in the girls’ Under-20 200 meters event at Carifta.

The East Coast International Showcase is forming part of Douglas’ World Under 20 Championships preparations; in an extended season that also saw her compete at the Penn Relays last week.

Douglas who says her athletic genes runs in her family reflected on her season so far.
