Special investigative team to probe series of robberies targeting Beryllium couriers

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has established a special investigative team to probe the series of recent robberies targeting couriers employed to Beryllium Limited.

 

This, according to head of the Crime and Security portfolio, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Fitz Bailey. DCP Bailey, alongside a high-level team from the JCF, met with senior executives from Beryllium.

 

The latest attack on Beryllium employees came in Albion, St. Thomas, on Saturday. A security guard was shot and wounded in the incident.

 

DCP Bailey noted that the special investigative team comprises representatives from a number of critical sections of the force.

 

 

DCP Bailey noted that the investigation is of high priority, as the robberies impact the public.

 

 

He commended the security guards who were on duty during Saturday’s attempted robbery.

 

 

Meanwhile, President of Beryllium, Andre McLean, welcomed the partnership with the constabulary force.
