Prime Minister Andrew Holness says special focus is being placed on the disaster response for multi-story buildings.

This, as he notes the increase in the number of buildings that are more than three stories high.

The Prime Minister, who is Chairman of the National Disaster Risk Management Council, says this requires a different strategy for disaster response.

Mr. Holness adds that there are several issues that must be examined in addressing disasters related to high-rise buildings.

He was speaking at a council meeting held in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, yesterday. The meeting comes ahead of the start of the hurricane season on June 1.
