Some nurses reportedly restive as matters relating to their compensation review remain unsettled
Some of the island’s public nurses are reportedly restive as matters relating to their compensation review remain unsettled.
In a statement today, the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ) said it is aware that umbrella group, Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) signed a wage agreement with the government last week.
It noted however, that it has not yet struck a deal with the Finance Ministry.
Speaking with IRIE FM News, NAJ President Dawn Marie Richards said the ministry has not engaged the association further.
Noting that some members are restive, Mrs. Richards said the NAJ is anticipating a meeting with Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke.
