Social Security Minister commits to getting more needy Jamaicans on PATH
Minister of Labour and Social Security, Pearnel Charles Jr. has expressed a commitment to get more Jamaicans on the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH).
Speaking at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) divisional conference in May Pen, Clarendon last night, Mr. charles noted that a reform of the path programme is being undertaken.
He said the government will ensure that those who are poor, vulnerable and in need of support receive adequate assistance.
Mr. Charles Jr. said he is also committed to ensuring that elderly people who are in need, and are not yet receiving a regular pension, get signed up for the social pension programme.
