West Indies Cricket legend Sir Clive Lloyd has  lost  his defamation suit against the Guyana  Chronicle  newspaper.

The suit….brought against the publication back in march 2021….followed a report penned by Rajiv Bisnauth and published in its online edition on march 13 that claims the former West Indies captain made disparaging remarks against all-rounder Jason Holder, who is also a former West Indies captain.

Lloyd has been ordered to pay 750,000 Guyana dollars with the judge describing the case as frivolous and a gross  waste of judicial resources  

The 79 year old lloyd has until November 30 of this year to pay . 

Reports  are  that the former two-time World Cup winning captain may  appeal.
