Sharkies robbed by gunmen; event promoter and owner speaks out

Event promoter and restaurateur, Alwyn “Brown Speed” Brown is expressing shock after one of his restaurants was robbed by gunmen this morning.

In his Instagram story, Brown wrote, “Can you believe say me grow up a Runaway Bay and lived here all my life and the bwoy dem come rob Sharkies wid gun this morning? I’m happy say dem nuh hurt the bearer but me feel offended.”

He continued in another slide, “Defend me community, represent me community, give back to me community and the man dem come diss me.”

When contacted by Music News, he said, “This happened at 8:48am when two persons on a motorcycle rode up, and the bearer was held at gunpoint and a sum of money taken. The crime was captured on camera and footage has been shared with the police who are doing their investigation. No arrests have been made.”

Alwyn “Brown Speed” Brown is the promoter for the popular Sharkies Seafood Festival and the occasional live music festivities at the Plantation Smokehouse.
