Several educators say they are elated and satisfied with the performance of their grade six students in the pep exams.
The highly-anticipated results were released earlier today, and come seven months after Hurricane Melissa disrupted preparations for the exams.
In St. Mary, Principal of New Orange Hill Primary and Infant School, Pamella Wynter said she was super excited about the performance of her 11 students who sat the exams.
Despite the small number of students who sat the exams, 2 students were placed at two of the island’s top schools Titchfield High School in Portland and Merl Grove High School in St. Andrew.
In the meantime, grade six teacher at the Belfield Primary school in St. Mary, Claudiene Mcnish said most of the 20 students who sat the exams have been placed at St. Mary High school.
She explained that she received a few surprises from the results.
And, grade six teacher at the Water Valley Primary School, Maureen Tingle said most of the 30 students who sat the exams were placed at their first choice schools.
She said students passed for high schools, including Calabar High, St. Mary High, Marymount high, and Annotto Bay high schools.
She explained that there were a few surprises with the exam results.
