Seven people shot and killed between last night and this morning

At least seven people were shot and killed across the island between last night and this morning (October 10).

In the latest incident at approximately 10 AM, two people were shot and killed on Young Street in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The names of the deceased have not yet been released.

Meanwhile, police are probing a quadruple murder in Trelawny last night.

The deceased are 51-year-old Cordel Graham otherwise called ‘Bia’, 43-year-old Nicole White otherwise called ‘Sheena’, 21-year-old Amelia Livingston otherwise called ‘Melia’, and 27-year-old Akeem Robinson otherwise called ‘Eddie’ and ‘Petro’.

Head of the Trelawny police, Superintendent Winston Milton, said the police have not established a definitive motive for the attack, but are pursuing several theories.

He said the incident happened while four children between the ages of 3 and 9 were at the dwelling, however they were unharmed.

And over in Manchester, twenty-five-year-old Jemario Sewell of Redberry district was gunned down in Porus at about 8:15 last night.

Police reports are that Sewell was among persons sitting on a veranda on Magill Street off Old Porus Road, when they were pounced upon by armed men.

The men assaulted another man, before opening gunfire hitting Sewell multiple times.

The police were summoned, and Sewell was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other man was treated and released.
