Senior policeman apologises for comments made at recent St. Catherine Council meeting

A senior member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF has apologized for comments he made during the recent meeting of the St. Catherine Municipal Corporation.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Paul Bernard issued the apology after he described license firearm holders as “cowards” for not assisting lawmen in fighting crime.

The High Command said DSP Bernard’s remarks were reckless.

The JCF said the matter was being reviewed with utmost seriousness and DSP Bernard will face the High Command.

Today, the JCF posted a video of DSP Bernard’s apology to its social media pages.

He pledged to ensure that there will not be a repeat of the incident.
