Senator Lambert Brown calls for government to address limited bed spaces at health facilities
Opposition Senator Lambert Brown is calling for more focus to be placed on addressing the issue of limited bed spaces at health facilities.
The senator, who recently underwent a surgery, said he was affected by the shortage.
He went as far as to note that he probably would have died, if extra effort was not made to have him admitted at hospital.
Senator Brown said having experienced what he did, he has become an advocate for ending the policy of turning patients away from hospitals, because there is no available bed.
Senator Brown recounted that he also recently had to seek assistance for his niece, who he said was on a bench at the Savanna-La-Mar hospital for three days because there was no bed available. He also cited the similar no bed experience for a well known footballer.
