Senate President Tom Tavares Finson chides Integrity Commission for what he says was an attempt to muzzle him
Senate President Tom Tavares-Finson has criticized the Integrity Commission for what he describes as an attempt to muzzle him.
This follows the commission’s decision not to publish a message he wrote in observance of International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9.
According to Mr. Tavares-Finson, he received a request from the commission on November 6 to contribute a brief message for inclusion in the commission’s supplement.
However, he said that when the supplement was published on International Anti-Corruption Day, he noticed his written message was missing.
The Senate President argued that his message, which contained certain allegations regarding a member of the Integrity Commission was not libelous.
