Sections of Jamaica were rattled by a magnitude 4.6 earthquake, this morning.

The quake occurred at around 8:34 am and was felt in parishes, including Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, St. Ann, St. Mary and Manchester.

The epicentre was located approximately 10 kilometres north-east of Stony Hill, St. Andrew.

The Earthquake Unit described the quake as light, but some residents said it was strong.

Trishagaye Kelly who lives in St. Catherine stated that she heard the quake before she felt it.

Some residents of Manchester also felt the quake.

Resident Dajone Morris said the earthquake lasted for a good while.
