Road Traffic Appeals Tribunal now in operation
The Road Traffic Appeals Tribunal, becomes operational today (Feb. 1)
Transport Minister Audley Shaw gave the update, while speaking in parliament, on Tuesday.
The tribunal forms part of the new regime, under the Road Traffic Act, which becomes effective, today (Feb. 1).
Mr. Shaw said motorists unhappy, with decisions of the island traffic authority, can take their case to the tribunal.
Additionally, under the new legislation, the i-t-a, will transition from an agency of the transport ministry, to a statutory body.
Among the decisions that can be taken by the ITA, is the suspension of a licence.
