Reggae girlz, moves up 6 spots to 37 on the FIFA Coca Cola Women’s World rankings

Jamaica’s reggae girlz, fresh from their historic run at the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup have moved up 6 spots to a life-time best 37 on the latest release of the FIFA Coca Cola Women’s World rankings.

A move which sees the Lorne Donaldson coached unit as the 4th highest placed team in Concacaf behind the United 3rd, Canada 10 and Mexico 36 .

The top spot on the ranking is now held by Sweden with newly crowned world champions Spain second by virtue of missing out on 35 points in their heavy 4-nil defeat to Japan in their final group-stage game.

The rest of the top 5 is completed by the United States, England and France.

Completing the top are Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil and Canada…… with tournament host Australia dropping to 11.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s world ranking will be published on December 15.

The reggae girls in the meantime will return to action in the two-way Olympic playoff against Canada in September.
