Residents of Porus in Manchester are demanding answers from the police about the continuation of curfews in their community.

Curfews have been imposed in Porus and adjoining communities for several months, as the police say they are effective in reducing and controlling crime.

However, residents and small business operators say they are suffering under the curfew.

They voiced their dissatisfaction at a town hall meeting last night.

One resident pointed out that the police claim the imposition of the curfew was driven by intelligence

He said he was expecting a comprehensive report.

Another resident complained about how they are being treated by the police.

A small business operator said she is unable to earn because of the limited hours she is allowed to operate.
