Pollster says consumer and business confidence fell in 2024 second quarter
There was a fall off in both consumer and business confidence in the second quarter of this year.
Speaking at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce’s business and consumer indices second quarter release this morning, Pollster Don Anderson noted that consumer confidence was down by 3% compared to the previous quarter.
He said this is a continuation of a pattern of fluctuation seen in recent years.
Mr. Anderson added that factors that fed into the fall off included a poor view of current job prospects.
Meantime, business confidence also went down in the second quarter, suffering an almost 5% fall off compared to the first quarter of 2024.
This was largely attributed to poor business conditions.
