A policeman was shot and wounded, during a traffic stop along Bayfarm Road in St. Andrew on Sunday.

Reports are that at about 5:22 pm, lawmen were conducting road traffic duties when two motorcyclists were signalled to stop.

It is reported that the men refused and the officers pursued them.

During the pursuit, there was an exchange of gunfire.

One of the officers was reportedly shot in the right leg. He was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

One of the motorcyclist was also shot and wounded. He is admitted to hospital under police guard.
