Police seize 18 firearms in surge operations across western Jamaica

Eighteen illegal weapons were seized during surge operations which continued in western Jamaica, last week.

Superintendent of Police, Vernon Ellis, who is Acting Assistant Commissioner in charge of police area, one notes that the operation was supported by the military, among other groups.

Superintendent Ellis noted that the focus was on problem areas in the division, and led to two gang members being shot dead in Westmoreland.

A wanted man – O’Brian Garvey, otherwise called ‘F1’, was also held during the operations.
