Scores of People’s National Party (PNP) supporters have turned out for the party’s 85th Annual National Conference at the National Arena in Kingston.

The event got underway at 10 AM and is set to end at 4 PM.

Supporters, clad in party colours, have gathered to hear from Opposition Leader Mark Golding and other representatives, who will deliver speeches addressing the state of the nation.

They will also speak to the plans they have for Jamaica as the elections approach.

Speaking to IRIE FM News, a supporter said Jamaica needs leaders that will help it out of its current state.

Meanwhile, another supporter expressed hope that the PNP will be successful in the upcoming elections.

A contingent of police officers are stationed at the National Arena to ensure the safety and security of attendees at the conference.
