Under the next People’s National Party (PNP) administration, the National Housing Trust (NHT) will be reverted to its initial purpose of providing homes to citizens.

That promise came from PNP President Mark Golding, while speaking last evening at the PNP South-east St. Ann Constituency Business and Civic Leaders forum.

Mr. Golding noted that the use of funds from the NHT to support the budget was an action taken by previous PNP administrations, due to International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan conditions.  

He also noted that despite criticising the PNP for the withdrawal, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) government has continued it.

The opposition leader said the next PNP government will put an end to the withdrawal.
