PM urges Jamaicans to be climate-smart and to be aware of environment in which they reside

Prime Minister Andrew Holness is urging Jamaicans to be climate-smart and to be aware of the environment in which they reside.

The advice comes in the wake of last week’s heavy rains in which landslides and flooding impacted several homes.

Speaking at a National Land Agency land titling ceremony in Bog Walk St Catherine on Tuesday, Mr Holness encouraged citizens to adhere to the country’s building regulations and laws.

The Prime Minister said both the Government and the individual must adapt to climate change and mitigate its effects.
