PM Holness stresses that stable economy is key to addressing poverty
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has stressed that a stable economy is key to addressing poverty.
Speaking at the new Social Housing ribbon cutting ceremony in St. Andrew, on Friday, Mr Holness emphasized the pivotal role of economic stability in addressing poverty.
He also pointed to its role in improving access to education, healthcare, and housing, as well as enhancing overall security.
Mr Holness stressed that over the past decade, the government has worked to foster economic stability, thereby laying the foundation for transformation.
The prime minister said construction of some social houses take up to a year to be completed, which should not be the case.
He however acknowledged the concern that a faster done date would ignite claims of a corruption.
