PM Holness says persons involved in corrupt water distribution practices will be prosecuted

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says persons found to be involved in corrupt water distribution practices will be prosecuted.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Holness noted that residents of drought stricken communities have complained about corruption and favouritism in the distribution of trucked water.

He said with over 300 million allocated for the drought response, this cannot be allowed to continue.

Mr. Holness said a reporting system is being set up at the National Water Commission, which will pass on reports to the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA).
