PM Holness commends St. James police following 28% reduction in murders

St. James has seen a 28%  reduction in murders.

According to data released by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, up to Saturday June 22, St. James recorded the highest number of murders, with 71.

This is 26 fewer than the 97 murders recorded in the same period last year.

In an update to Prime Minister Andrew Holness today, Head of the St. James Police Division Superintendent Eron Samuels said the parish has not recorded a murder for the past 3 weeks. 

In commending members of the security forces in St. James, Mr. Holness urged them to continue fighting against criminal gangs.
