PM assures that all bodies of victims of hurricane Melissa will be recovered
The bodies of all victims of hurricane Melissa will be recovered, even if they have to be exhumed.
Prime minister dr. Andrew Holness gave the assurance in parliament yesterday as he responded to questions from Member of Parliament for Eastern Westmoreland dr. Dayton Campbell about the death toll.
The government reported that at least 32 lives were lost due to the category 5 system.
Dr. Holness reiterated that the authorities have received reports of additional deaths, but these have not yet been confirmed.
Noting that he was informed that some bodies were buried by citizens, the Prime Minister said if necessary, they will be exhumed, as all bodies must be accounted for.
He said forensic teams are examining the bodies to determine the cause of death.
