PM and Opposition Leader urge Jamaicans to use lessons from the country’s colonial history to secure a better future
Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Mark Golding are urging Jamaicans to use the lessons from the country’s colonial history to secure a better future.
Their messages come as Jamaica observes Emancipation Day.
Prime Minister Holness notes the importance of continued advocacy regarding reparations.
He explains, however, that Jamaicans must use their freedom to create their own wealth.
Meanwhile, Mr. Golding says Jamaicans should use the day to reflect on ways to address the lingering challenges of the past.
