Playing for Jamaica a dream realized for Dishon Bernard

Reggae boy newcomer Dishon Bernard says its a dream realized to secure the opportunity to wear the national colours. 

Bernard, whose father was born in Jamaica, is now with the reggae boyz delegation  in Austria as they continue preparations for the upcoming Concacaf Gold Cup in the United States, starting this Friday with the qualifiers. 

The 22 year old defender who ply his trade at League One Club Portsmouth, says he is happy to be in the squad under the guidance of coach Heimir Hallgrimsson as they prepare for two warm up games against Qatar and Jordan, adding that his mission is to make Jamaica proud.

Finalists in 2015 and again in 2017 the reggae boys who crashed out at the quarter final stage  in 2021 have been drawn in group ‘A’ and are scheduled to face the United in their opening game at soldier field in Chicago on January 24.
