Petrojam workers resume normal duties

The over 200 workers from Petrojam’s technical services department who took industrial action on Wednesday, resumed normal duties on Thursday morning.

This, as talks continue in a bid to resolve issues linked to the public sector compensation review process.

The labour ministry was forced to intervene in the dispute, calling the management of Petrojam, as well as the workers’ union, the Union of Clerical Administrative and Supervisory Employees, (UCASE) to a conciliatory meeting on Wednesday.

President of UCASE Vincent Morrison, indicated that a meeting was held with the workers on Thursday morning, and a back to work order issued.

He noted that the union will meet with management for further negotiations at 2 this afternoon.
